Superior Chocolate Cake
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In mixing bowl combine...
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp salt
In saucepan, heat til boiling...
1 cup water
4 tsp cocoa note, more cocoa can be added for fudgier cake
1 cup of butter or stick margarine
...add this to flour mixture above and blend. Let cool til warm then add...
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Pour into prepared 9 x 13 cake pan and bake
for 30 minutes. Test with fork or toothpick in the center to see if done.
This cake is good served warm with real whipped cream, or cooled spread
with german chocolate icing.

Ma B's Buttermilk Pancakes
Mix dry ingredients:
3 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
3 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
Add wet ingredients:
4 eggs
2 cups buttermilk
1 cup milk
1/2 cup oil
1/2 to 1 tsp of vanilla, to taste.
Mix thoroughly. Overmixing will cause chewier pancakes. Pour as pancakes or ladel
batter into a waffle iron.
